Esker Hills had a very successful weekend away playing in Ballinrobe on Friday in dry conditions but it was wet underfoot and on Saturday in Westport with extremely strong winds. Congratulations to Paul Stewart who won the overall prize. Paul had a fabulous 39 points on Saturday and was solid on Friday to match Willie O"Shea"s two day score. Paul had a better back nine. Other prize winners were John O"Shea, Vice-Captain Frank Thompson and current Captain Frank Ryan and Eddie Dunican. Vivienne Dunican won the Ladies prize. Good luck to the Duggan Cup who are playing on Friday and to the Leinster 4 ball and Mixed foursomes teams who are playing on Saturday. The timesheet is up for the Esker Hills members Classic which is running of Friday 15th May. Cost €200 entry for a team of 4 with a maximum of 2 club members per team. Ladies Notes Last Thursday Joan Murphy and Regina O"Regan were playing the last round of the Daily Mail competition. They were playing Anne and Geraldine from Moate. It was a very tough match as holes won or lost with eagles, birdies or pars. Unfortunately, Esker ladies were beaten by Moate. Both teams were very happy with their game on the day. The Ladies 18 hole competitions have now started.
