Tullamore College 1-13 Cnoc Mhuire Granard 4-13 Tullamore College Under 16"s attempt to win a third Leinster title this year failed when they were beaten by Cnoc Mhuire, Granard, in the Leinter B Under 16 final played in Mullingar. Cnoc Mhuire started the brighter team and went into a lead scoring two goals and four points before Tullamore College registered their first points from David Maloney, Garrett Mann, Sean Henshy and Charlie Hayes. Cnoc Mhuire further dominated the 1st half scoring another goal and went in at half time with a 17-point lead. However, Tullamore College staged a determined comeback with a goal from Dean McCabe and further points only to see their goal cancelled out by a further goal from Granard. A good second half display was not good enough to claw back the huge first-half deficit even though Tullamore College showed great heart and commitment but Cnoc Mhuire were the deserved winners by nine points. ullamore College were well served by David Jordan, and David Maloney and Gary Cutler showed well in the forward line along with Charlie Hayes and Sean Henshey. It was a great achievement and honour for the school to capture two Leinster Titles this year along with some marvellous games and performance from all the players. Huge credit must go to teacher and trainer Michael Doolin along with Fr Padraig Corcoran for their commitment and time and effort put in during the year.
