Children at Daingean Community Childcare Services receive funding boost from AIB

Children who attend Daingean Community Childcare Services are now able to further develop their educational abilities and skills, thanks to a donation of €10,000 from AIB Tullamore. The funding, awarded under the AIB Better Ireland Programme, allowed the group to further develop its services by purchasing new kitchen equipment and speech and language development materials as well as indoor and outdoor play equipment and nursery equipment. Daingean Community Childcare Services is dedicated to providing a high quality childcare service to the local community that is both affordable and accessible to all parents and children. The service caters for children aged between six months and 12 years and includes full day-care, pre and after school care and a breakfast club. The children enjoy activities such as music, indoor and outdoor sports as well as academic education. Mary Brereton, Service Manager, Daingean Community Childcare Services Ltd, commented: 'Thanks to funding from the AIB Better Ireland Programme, we have been able to expand our services ensuring that local children now have access to a state of the art childcare facility and receive the best possible educational start.' Speaking on a visit to the childcare, Eddie O"Reilly, Branch Manager, AIB Tullamore said: 'We would like to congratulate Daingean Community Childcare Services for improving their facilities to better meet the needs of the children who attend. It"s great to see at first hand how AIB"s funding of €10,000 is being used, and what a positive impact it is having on the children from the area. At AIB Tullamore, we"re delighted to be supporting this worthwhile local project, which is one of the 185 projects supported nationwide by the AIB Better Ireland Programme in 2008.'
