Tullamore Harriers Athletic Club Notes
Lisburn Half Marathon - Pauline Curley made the long trip to Lisburn last Wednesday to compete in the Lisburn Half Marathon. Pauline has been coming back to good form recently as shown by her second place in the Ladies Mini Marathon. Here in Lisburn she ran even better over a hilly course when she won the ladies race and finished 8th overall out of a field of 1500 runners. Pauline ran a great time of 1.16.27. National League Sunday July 5th sees the Tullamore mens and ladies teams make the short trip to Athlone to compete in the second round of the National track and field league. After the first leg in Cork the men"s team are in sixth position and the ladies occupy ninth place. With the top eight teams qualifying for the final to be held in Tullamore in August there will be a big effort made to to try and secure a place in the final. Ras na Rinne, Waterford Road Race Pauline Lambe continued her winning ways last weekend when she won the senior Ladies title in the Ras na Rinne six mile road race in Dungarven. On a circuit that included some beach running Pauline was victorious in a time of 35.14. Barry Lambe finished in 36th place overall in a time of 36.31. Triathlon Mary Daly and Maire Triona Keane competed in the Dunmore East Triathlon last weekend over a course consisting of 750 metre swim , 20k cycle and a 7k run. In a big field Maire Triona finished 99th overall and 8th woman in a time of 1.33.22. Mary Daly was 103rd and won her age category in a time of 1.33.33. Marian Geraghty 10k Road race The annual Marian Geraghty 10k road race take place in Mountbolus on Sunday July5th and a big turnout is again expected. The race is open to everyone and entries will be taken on the day. Fixtures July 5th : National League Round 2, Athlone. July 5th : Marian Geraghty 10K Road Race in Mountbolus. July 9th : Offaly Track and Field Championships in Tullamore at 7pm. Training: Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, Sunday morning at 8.30am Except on a race day.
