Festive feast at BOLD Christmas party

It may have been a BOLD Christmas party, but there was nothing nasty about the festive Ballycommon Organisation for Local Development (BOLD) celebrations last Sunday. The party took place in Kilmurry Community Centre, with catering by Coffee Haven of Ferbane and music by Breda Teacy, Ann Glennon and Sean Norman along with some help from Shauna and Cianna McGarrigle. BOLD Chairman Damien Mealiffee told those gathered that community spirit is now needed "more than ever", but that it was alive and well in Ballycommon. Following lunch on the day the Ballycommon and Daingean choirs sang a selection of Christmas carols as Lena Scally turned on the christmas lights. On returning inside delighted children discovered that Santa had arrived, and time was spent checking his lists for the local children ahead of his official visit in the coming weeks before the party drew to a close.
