Thunderstorm warning for fifteen counties, including Offaly

A yellow-level weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued today (Monday) for fifteen counties, including Offaly.

Met Eireann said the affected counties will potentially see "scattered thunderstorms today and tonight, with lightning, hail and a risk of localised flooding."

The weather warning came into effect at 11am today and is due to remain in place until 8am tomorrow (Tuesday).

The counties affected are: Carlow, Cavan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.

The forecast in general is for showers, some of which will be heavy, to spread from the southeast during the afternoon, amid temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is set to be warm and mostly cloudy, with temperatures in the low 20s. Some isolated showers may occur early in the day, but conditions will brighten as the day goes on.

It will continue warm for the rest of the week but will become more unsettled.
