Man arrested after €80,000 of cannabis seized in Dublin

A man in his 40s has been arrested after €80,000 worth of cannabis was seized in Dublin.

This followed a planned search of a residential property located in the Fortunestown area of Dublin 24 on Tuesday.

During the search, cannabis herb with an estimated value of approximately €80,000 (pending analysis) was discovered and seized.

The man is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in Dublin.

The seized drugs will undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

He is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court on Wednesday evening.

Gardaí say investigations into the matter are ongoing.
