Details of three-day Edenderry Music Festival announced

Details of the line-up for a three-day music festival on the grounds of Edenderry GAA Club in late June have been announced.

Popular Offaly band Ruaile Buaile will be among the performers at the event, which is taking place in a marquee on the GAA club's grounds on June 28, 29 and 30.

The line-up will also feature tribute acts like Qween, Trevor Smith's Garth Brooks tribute (Friends in Low Places), and many more.

The organisers said tickets were selling fast and were available at Ticketstop.ie from €16 for day tickets, with weekend tickets also available.

An array of fantastic local artists will also be adding to the entertainment over the three days, with musical styles set to span a wide range from rock and roll to traditional Irish.

Ruaile Buaile's performance will be on the opening night of Friday, June 28.

The five-piece "twisted trad" band was formed in 2011 and includes original members Niall Kelly (Vocals and Guitar), Jack Godley (Percussion), Shane Lynam (Vocals and Bass), along with more recent additions Cathal Guinan (Fiddle) and Seán Bourke (banjo).

From upbeat old Irish favourites, ground thumping trad, and unique twists on recent day classics, Ruaile Buaile are bringing their energy to the masses around Ireland and further afield.

Saturday, June 29, will see the Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience and Qween tribute band taking to the stage.

The Garth Brooks tribute, Friends in Low Places, by Trevor Smith and his eight-piece band will perform all of the country superstar's biggest hits.

The renowned tribute band Qween, meanwhile, will deliver an electrifying homage to the legendary band Queen.

Sunday, June 30, will be a family fun day at the festival, with free admission. Bouncy castles, a children's fun fair, a children's comedy show, music, party games & special cartoon guests are planned.

There will also be stalls, inflatables, mini games, sweets, a children’s funfair, a boxing showcase and lots of colour and family fun.

It's guaranteed to be a memorable and enjoyable day for families to spend quality time together.

The festival has moved to the Edenderry GAA grounds to facilitate a giant marquee to house the music acts over the weekend so the festival will not be weather-dependent.

With large crowds expected, organisers considered it safer to operate in the grounds of the GAA club and away from the main road.

Edenderry Festival 2024 is proudly sponsored by SSE Renewables and Offaly County Council Rural Development LEADER Programme.
