Sunday sport: Dublin and Kerry throw in at Croke Park for place in All-Ireland football final

GAA

The All-Ireland Football Championship semi-final between Dublin and Kerry has just gotten underway at Croke Park.

There has been one late change for both sides.

Sean O'Shea comes in for Paul Geaney for the Kingdom and Alex Gannon starts in place of Sean McMahon for Ger Brennan's Dubs.

It is the first championship fixture between the sides since Dublin defeated Kerry in the 2023 All-Ireland final.

Ger Brennan's side are competing in the last-four for the first time in three years, while Jack O'Connor's defending champions have progressed to the penultimate stage in each of the last six seasons.

The winners will face Mayo in the All-Ireland final.

Andy Moran's side proved too strong for Louth on Saturday.

Goals from Ryan O'Donoghue, Darragh Beirne and Conor Loftus eased them to a 3-23 to 0-17 victory at GAA Headquarters.

Mayo boss Moran believes that his county's supporters should relish the prospect of a first All-Ireland final appearance in five years later this month.

Soccer

Shelbourne are reportedly set to hold talks with Sligo Rovers manager John Russell over their vacant managerial position.

The Drumcondra side have received permission from Sligo to approach the 41-year-old, according to the Irish Examiner.

Russell remains under contract with the Bit O'Red, so a compensation deal would have to be agreed.

A loss to Galway United yesterday has his current side bottom of the League of Ireland table.

Galway United hope to take a joint stake at the top spot in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division this afternoon.

They will join Athlone Town if they can beat Shamrock Rovers.

That is just kicking off.

Republic of Ireland international Denise O'Sullivan is reportedly set to leave Liverpool and return to the United States.

The Cork midfielder only joined the Women's Super League club in January for a club-record fee.

Reports say Liverpool are in talks with Gotham FC over a move, with O'Sullivan understood to be keen on a return to the NWSL for personal reasons.

Tennis

The Wimbledon men's singles title will be decided this afternoon.

World number one Jannik Sinner takes on French Open champion Alexander Zverev in the final at the All England Club.

Play on Centre Court is just underway.

Golf

There is a two-way tie for the lead on the final day of the Genesis Scottish Open.

South Korean Tom Kim and Robert MacIntyre are the players to catch on 13 under par, one shot clear of the chasing pack.

Rory McIlroy is just on the back 9, and is seventh on 10 under.
