Horse racing to be brought to life at National Ploughing Championships

Visitors to this year's National Ploughing Championships, to be held at Screggan, Tullamore next week, will have the chance to avail of an interactive introduction to Ireland's horse racing industry.

The Ploughing Championships will take place from September 15 to 17, where Equuip will join with Agri Aware – at stand 538 (row 26, block 3) - to offer the experience, which includes a racing simulator to give visitors a chance to experience some of the skill, strength and balance required to ride a racehorse.

Special guests from the racing world will appear throughout the event, with simulator classes and talks.

There will be a focus throughout on 'From Foal to Race', the transition year initiative delivered by Equuip and Agri Aware. The programme introduces students to the journey of the thoroughbred, from breeding and care through to training and racing, while showcasing the wide range of careers connected to the industry.
