Edenderry shop closes after "incredibly upsetting" burglary

Edenderry charity shop My Lovely Vintage announced this week that it has been forced to close after suffering an "incredibly upsetting" burglary.
The incident took place on Tuesday night, November 3.
Video footage taken at the time of the incident showed Gardai taking a person into custody following the incident.
The shop, which raises funds for animal charity, My Lovely Horse Rescue, received extensive damage during the burglary, including broken windows and locks, and damages to goods inside the store.
"It is with absolutely broken hearts that we have to inform our customers, friends and local community that our shop was burgled," My Lovely Vintage wrote in a post on social media on Wednesday.
"The damage is devastating. Our front and back windows have been smashed, furniture has been wrecked, and our shop has been completely ransacked. Our entire store area has been destroyed, leaving us with a scene that is incredibly upsetting and difficult to put into words.
"We are absolutely heartbroken. My Lovely Vintage is more than just a shop. It is a little part of our local community, built with the help of generous donors, loyal customers and a wonderful team of volunteers."
The store described the incident as "deeply saddening", adding: "There is nothing expensive kept in our shop, and we do not keep money on the premises. Every penny raised goes towards helping our animals and supporting our local community."
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said on Thursday that it could not comment on the incident, as the matter was before the courts.
