Cllr Shane Murray elected Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Municipal District
Cllr. Shane Murray has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Tullamore Municipal District for the year ahead following its AGM held yesterday (Thursday).
Cllr Murray, who was co-opted to the Offaly County Council in December 2024, represents Fianna Fáil and is also a long-standing community activist and chair of the Tullamore Tidy Towns Association.
He takes up the role of Cathaoirleach as the district sets its leadership for the 2026–27 term.
Councillor Oliver Bryant was appointed Leas-Chathaoirleach at the same meeting.
Cllr Bryant was first elected as an official public representative for the Tullamore Electoral Area on Offaly County Council during the June 2024 local elections.
Prior to this, he had a long history working as an administrative employee in the council's Environment Section for 30 years.
