Offaly co co passes motion of no

Members of Offaly County Council passed a motion of no confidence in Irish Water this afternoon.

Standing orders were suspended at the council's monthly meeting in order to deal with the motion.

Speaking after the meeting, Cllr Brendan Killeavy said, 'I am delighted that all parties and independents supported the Sinn Fein motion in calling for a vote of no confidence in Irish Water.'

Up to 40 anti water charge campaigners held a peaceful protest outside the council's headquarters in Tullamore during the meeting.
