Two Offaly hurlers on 'Team Of The Week' after impressing against Kilkenny

Two Offaly players have been named on the Gaa.ie hurling 'team of the week' after impressing against Kilkenny at Nowlan Park yesterday (Sunday).

The Faithful County took the game to the hosts in the first half, leading by eight points at one stage and bringing a six-point lead into the dressing room at the interval.

Hopes of a landmark victory against the Cats faded in the third quarter, with Kilkenny ruthless as they clawed back the deficit to ultimately win by 1-26 to 1-19.

Ballinamere duo Mark Troy and Dan Ravenhill were today named on the hurling 'team of the week'.

Offaly GAA congratulated the two players, stating: "Mark Troy gave a great account of himself between the sticks - accurate puck outs and he had a very solid game.

"Dan Ravenhill put in a massive shift throwing himself into tackles all over the field and finishing the game with a brace of points.

"Well done lads, and well deserved."
